We are looking for someone to design and develop our android app.
wudo is a social opinion capturing application. The idea is to ask a question, give possible options, apply a timeframe (optional) and select a category and then submit and share.
Our app will need to be heavily integrated with all social media with sharing with social log in available. New users will be able to register in app or log in with other social platforms.
After log in, users will be taken to the home page where they will be able to ask a question or select from one of the categories to answer other users questions. A tool bar at the top will give them the option to return to the home page from any page in the app, search for and add new friends, see new responses to questions they have asked, search the archive for previously asked questions and go to the settings page. They will also be able to select a category from which they would like to see questions for them to answer.
Users should also be able to swipe right-to-left from the home page to take them to their micro profile. From here, users will be able to see questions they have asked, infographic based statistics about the results and read comments that have been left as well as seeing the opinion of their friends. This will be largely generated through information gathered from registration or social media log in (age, gender, location). A left-to-right swipe from the home page would direct users to the ‘trending questions’ section of the app which will feature most commented, voted on or shared questions over the last 24hours.
When posting a question, users will be able to upload a link within the question and have the facility to upload up to 5 picture or text answers for others to pick from. They will be able to select from this page whom they would like to share their question (in-app friends, phone contacts, Facebook friends, twitter followers and the general public) and include a time frame (optional) for when they need answer by. After a question has been posted, users can vote, comment and discuss their opinion.
After a user has submitted their vote, they will see the basic statistics of how other users voted and have facility to browse other users comments, agree or disagree (+ -) with comments, report comments or add their own to the discussion.
Initially, we intend for our app to be completely ad free and will not generate revenue. We have future plans to generate revenue from the app and these will need to be taken into account during the development process so they can be easily integrated when we are ready.
• Featured question on homepage.
• Sponsored questions – targeted market research based on user demographic.
• Gathering key words from comments to be used for market research purposes.
Back end features will need to include:
• Create, edit and delete questions
• Gather in-depth information about users, selections they make questions they skip
• Notification of reported questions, users or comments.
Within each ‘answer a question’ page, we will need functionality for users to report a question and a way to monitor, with a notification flagging up when a particular question has been flagged by 5 or more users. We will also need to be able to monitor users that repeatedly have their questions flagged to be able take action. Users will also be able to skip questions by swiping to the next one, information of which we would like to gather to be able to provide more relevant questions to the user.
We are looking to work with someone who understands our vision and will be able to input their creativity to the design process. We have our own basic idea of what we are trying to achieve visually from the app and icon but would be interested to see your ideas.
We look to taking this to iOS shortly after the android launch and would prefer to work with someone who possesses the skills to develop android and iOS apps so we can build a strong working relationship going forward.
