Project Description

I need someone to build a cartoon style racing game suitable for both iPhones and iPads. The app will be a free download and the user (‘race organiser’) can select single player mode or invite up to three other people to watch the race. If others are invited to watch, it is absolutely critical that those people see the race on their own iPhone/iPad at the same time and get exactly the same outcome. Effectively, the same results will be seen on up to four different iPhones/iPads as if people were watching the same screen at the same time.

The free downloaded version of the game will involve up to four animated cartoon characters (flies) crawling or racing up a wall. The flies will have an equal random chance of winning and have to avoid obstacles like fly swats, fly spray, spiders and other objects in order to cross the finish line. The race will be over in less than 30 seconds. When the race is finished, the winning fly does a little dance and the others look dejected and respond in different humorous ways.

The free downloaded version of the game also comes with an ‘in-app’ purchase button, so that further animated characters like snails, slugs, spiders or cockroaches can also participate and race over additional courses. The paid version will also enable a user to invite others to watch and change the odds of each character winning a race.

The cartoon character graphics and sound must be very high quality, similar to ‘Talking Tom’ ([url removed, login to view]). So you need to be expert in 3D cartoon characters and things like rendering, animation, textures and lighting. The animated characters will need to be drawn in such a way that they have a personality and could be funny, serious or just have ‘attitude’. The artwork must be beautiful, detailed and clear.

I will finish by giving you an example of how the game might work in reality.

A school kid has a paid version of the game on his iPhone. He invites three friends (via their mobile number or a saved favourite contact?) to watch a race and see if slugs crawl faster than snails, flies and cockroaches. He changes the odds so that some characters are more likely to win the race than others. Finally, he names the characters after his friends or school teachers and the four of them watch the race at the same time on their iPhones but from different locations.

The attachment lists the required features, payment terms and services required in more detail, so is essential reading before bidding. Your bid should reflect the project requirements and not necessarily the price range as I was simply guessing based on reading other posted projects on this website.

There is a 20% bonus on top of your quoted fee if this application is featured in a top 25 paid or free category within the Apple store within 2 months of public release.
