A simple application which allows the user to add other users through an assigned code or pin (similar to blackberry). Once added, the user can post statuses up to 120 characters and see the status of the other users he added. The layout is very simple and similar to the Recent Updates section of Blackberry Messenger. However, this app should have a very simple shortcut so that the users do not need to open the application directly. A very small tile should be present at the far top right of the screen which users can access at all times on their phone by a simple click to view the statuses of others.
Another feature is location. Location can be turned on or off. When on, the user can select which city he is currently in. If he changes his current city when travelling, the status update should show a small airplane logo which reads "John Smith as just arrived in Miami, FL".
The key to this app is simplicity and a quick shortcut where the user can view the status update page quickly and at anytime through the top right corner shortcut rather than having to move directly to the application.
