Project Description

Zen-Cart Shipping Module:

Background:

- The "product" is a label that can be printed on various types of media

- Each product has a primary attribute called "Media Type." This tells us what
media to print on (eg: T-Shirt, Sweatshirt, mug, mouse pad, etc)

How Shipping Is Calculated:

- Shipping is based on the Media Type attribute and quantity (similar to the
"$x for first item $y for additional items" flat-rate shipping module for
osCommerce)

- Each media type has 2 main shipping prices associated with it.
- The first is the single item (eg: $[url removed, login to view] for a t-shirt)
- The second is if it is an add-on item in the cart (eg: $2 for each
additional t-shirt)
- HOWEVER, the "first item" and "Add-on Item" price is location-dependant, so
the cost can be different for shipping within the US, Canada, and any other
international address. (See Figure 1 below)

Figure 1:
T-Shirt:
---------------+---------+----------+-----------------
Shipping | US | Canada | International
---------------+---------+----------+-----------------
First Item | $[url removed, login to view] | $[url removed, login to view] | $[url removed, login to view]
Add-on Item | $[url removed, login to view] | $[url removed, login to view] | $[url removed, login to view]
---------------+---------+----------+-----------------

Mouse Pad:
---------------+---------+----------+-----------------
Shipping | US | Canada | International
---------------+---------+----------+-----------------
First Item | $[url removed, login to view] | $[url removed, login to view] | $[url removed, login to view]
Add-on Item | $[url removed, login to view] | $[url removed, login to view] | $[url removed, login to view]
---------------+---------+----------+-----------------

- If the cart has mixed media in it, the initial shipping cost is taken from
the HIGHEST intial shipping cost

Example:
- we have 2 mouse pads and 2 t-shirts and are shipping to the US
1.) it should take the t-shirt's initial shipping cost of $[url removed, login to view] first
2.) then, it should use the additional shipping cost of $[url removed, login to view] for each
additional t-shirt
3.) for both mouse pads, it would use the add-on cost of $[url removed, login to view] for the
each mouse pad
- This would total $[url removed, login to view] shipping. [see Figure 2 below]
- If you took the shipping cost of the mouse pad instead of the t-shirt in
step one, the total shipping would be $[url removed, login to view] and too low
[see Figure 3 below]

Figure 2:
-----------------+-----------------
Item | Shipping Cost
-----------------+-----------------
1st T-shirt | $[url removed, login to view]
2nd T-shirt | $[url removed, login to view]
1st Mouse Pad | $[url removed, login to view]
2nd Mouse Pad | $[url removed, login to view]
-----------------+-----------------
Total: | $[url removed, login to view]

Figure 3:
-----------------+-----------------
Item | Shipping Cost
-----------------+-----------------
1st Mouse Pad | $[url removed, login to view]
2nd Mouse Pad | $[url removed, login to view]
1st T-shirt | $[url removed, login to view]
2nd T-shirt | $[url removed, login to view]
-----------------+-----------------
Total: | $[url removed, login to view]
