I would like to develop a small website for a supporters club. It should be written in PHP and have a back end MYSQL database to store members details such as name, username, password, address, phone, email. The website will have about 8 sections, 4 of which will be open to everybody, the other 4 will require the website viewer to be a logged in member of the supporters club.
One of the closed off sections will be a discussion forum where a member can post a new topic for discussion, or reply to a topic already up there. As admini of the site, I need the ability to remove posts that are unacceptable.
Another of the closed off sections is to be a quiz page where a member can take part in a fun quiz of ten multiple choice questions. They select their answers, click a proceed button, they will be informed how many out of 10 they got correct and will be informed of all of the correct answers.
Another of the closed off sections will be a 'Suggest an Event' page whereby members will be able to submit an Event and a date and ask other members if they would like to attend. The page should consist of a table of suggested events, with an option at the top to suggest a new event.
The other pages will be basic PHP pages which I will be able to update myself.
There needs to be a user login script on the homepage, as well as a forgot password page.
The homepage should have a top bar with the title of the organisation and a [url removed, login to view] - the website should have a menu down the left hand side, a main centre section and a right hand section which can allow us to put topical information into (i.e. basic php page).
When members sign up, they can tick a box to receive regular email updates on our activities. I need some way to do this, possibly by having a page on the site which only I can access, which lets me type in a message and when I hit send, it sends a basic email message to all current members who are requesting updates.
