Project Description

First of all, let me state that we need someone that is available to get started right away. This should be a simple project, and we're hoping that there's a turnaround time of 1-2 days.

What's needed: we need a simple Flash player GUI and related code that's capable of a few things (listed below). It is not sufficient to use the FLVPlayback component in Flash. We need access to the code that controls each one of the buttons/options.

The GUI should contain the usual controls like a play button, pause, stop, full screen, volume control, and slider (for seeking back and forth in video). As far as how the GUI should look, we would like it to look as close to YouTube's GUI as possible.

We will be using this GUI to play different size external videos (.flv or .mp4). Because of the different sizes, we will want to pass the height and width of the video to Actionscript? We have the height and the width available in Javascript. With the FLVPlayback component, it doesn't seem to set the width and height correctly.

Also, when the browser is loaded with the embedded swf file, the video may not yet be available. Therefore, the player should continue to check for the file until it becomes available/created (infinite loop).

Since the video is being downloaded/processed while it is playing, and we currently don't have seek support, we don't want to see error messages when the user tries to seek in the video. At this point, seeking should only be available after the video is finished downloading/processing. A simple comment in the code that tells us where the seek section code is located should suffice.

We are also looking for a Flash expert to make a contact with for future projects. This is only the first phase of the player that we will need to create.
