Project Description

The goal of this project is to modify Orchart framework on this page: [url removed, login to view]

The framework for the OrgChart is described in detail at: [url removed, login to view]

Add the following enhancements

1. Upon intial upload of Orchart data from XML file (this method is already complete), there are no connections present, but currently the OrgChart displays connections. The initial state of the OrgChart needs to be with no connectors (possibly just hidden or drawn to match background could be easiest). The only organization should be based on the input file is the level of the persons title (Board, C-level (CEO, CIO, etc), Vice Presidents, Directors, Managers & Staff). These Groups need to be organized with the higher level titles on top.

2. Add our Javascript grid to the Orgchart interface (screenshot included). This Grid manages and stores the contact data. The placement of the grid will have to be experimented with. We may choose to hide/remove the "connections" and the "Context Company" columns (possibly others). In this case, the grid could be placed of the left or right side. The source code for the grid will be provided upon project award.

3. Implement drag and drop to connect ROWS in the Javascript grid. This functionality would be a "mode" that is toggled by an icon representing an orgchart. When toggled on, it is in edit mode and connections moved. When off, the hierachy cannot be edited. A reporting connection will be represented as a hierarchy. Example if the CIO and CFO report to the CEO, the CFO and CIO would be indented under the CEO row. The edit/toggle button should be place at the far left of the button bar.

The Orgchart would have to be redrawn upon changing a connection. Depending upon update speed, this may be done when editing is toggled off. First attempt should be to refresh as changes happen.

This project is Phase II of a 4-Phase project.
