Project Description

THIS IS A RUSH JOB... The following are updates to the html code for the website of a great organization in Franklin, TN. Most of the code has already been written but needs to be reactivated with information for 2012. If you do well on this project, we may hire you to rebuild this entire back-end system to be easier to use and more reliable in the future.

Who Will You Be Working For? My Friends House takes care of young boys who's families have either gone to jail, abandoned them, or been proven unfit to parent. These particular corrections are for a fundraising event that is held each year for high school students. To assist you in understanding the site and the goals of this project, let me explain this fundraiser.

The Mardi Gras Ball is a fun event where high school students can nominate their friends to be the king or queen at the ball. Once nominated, please go on this website to bid on their favorite nominee. Bids are donations to My Friends House. The student with the highest bids wins.

Changes we need you to make:

1. Nominees to Appear on Nominee Page:
She would like for the Nominees (For both King & Queen) when nominated on Nominate King & Queen ([url removed, login to view]) to show up displayed along with their total contributed amount on View Nominees ([url removed, login to view]). This functionality should already be set up from a few years ago. Its just going to be an issue of going back in and resetting up the functionality for the new 2012 event.

2. Secure Pages for Transactions.
Amy would also like for the 2 specific pages in which transactions take place (Buy Tickets & Place Your Bid) to be set up on a secure server. Which were set up in the past at these pages:
Buy Tickets - [url removed, login to view]~mfh/mardi_gras/[url removed, login to view]
Place A Bid - [url removed, login to view]~mfh/mardi_gras/[url removed, login to view]

The payment pages are all on a shared SSL system, the root of which is:[url removed, login to view]~mfh/ This presents the whole website in SSL without the need for MFH to maintain their own certificate. So you'll see that linked from a few places on the site (mardi gras payment, donate page) and those pages process cards directly with [url removed, login to view]'s just a mirrored setup, so: [url removed, login to view]~mfh/mardi_gras/[url removed, login to view] is the [url removed, login to view]

3. Admin Page Reset for 2012
And lastly she'd like the admin page to be cleared of all of the previous years information and wiped fresh for the new year. This should involve clearing out a table/database that the current nominees are being stored in. As far as the Mardi Gras system, it should be pretty straight forward once your programmer gets in there and starts poking around. The code is commented so that should help. The database(s) are accessible via the hosting (with phpMyAdmin). To "reset" the mardi gras system for this year, you have to clear out certain tables with old info -- nominees, bids, etc.
