Project Description

A website running on CentOS (WHM/Cpanel) needs the following:

[1] the existing WP blog needs an upgrade to the most recent version of WordPress while maintaining data; in the new installation, some features of the WP admin interface and WP branding need to be removed (this can be done by editing the a WordPress functions file)

[2] the new WP installation will require a custom HTML 5 theme (the current theme is no good)

[3] the website uses a few PHP scripts with just a few lines of code each to provide some very simple functionality (read and write from/to MySQL, write user input form a form to MySQL); these scripts need to be rewritten or replaced by some plug-in to make this website reasonably safe

[4] the encoding of MySQL needs to be revised; the web site will use UTF8 with HTML5 (special characters don't work right now)

[5] After this is fixed, this account may need to be moved to an AWS EC2 instance. We will be also setting up another similar account on AWS EC2. This brings an ongoing need for the administration of Linux EC2 instances.
