Project Description

Need a Lead Developer to create a Facebook, have it tested, and lauched by August 5, 2009 that provides users with a unique login/pw to a special portal-style app that contains information about a Cincinnati festival being planned for October 2009 by several collaborating non-profits.

Respondents will refer people to the site and will earn visible "stars" for those they refer when those people sign up. Members will invite people to RSVP online for the October festival, for which each will earn more stars. Flair buttons with a database of acceptable/mildly-editable text will be able to be issued to members by members, with the button appearing on both the user's "app page" and the main feed to their homepage in Facebook. At the center of the portal will be "video arcade" of classic video games (Pong, PacMac, Missle Command, Frogger) playable while on the Facebook app, with scores being stored and ranked, and members being able to see their scores versus all members, select groups of members, or individuals, on demand.

Developer should have significant experience with PHP and DHTML, and prior experience with the Facebook API.

Will provide very senior guidance and mentoring from established, successful best-in-class architects. Can provide junior developers to support the effort. Go-Live of 8/5/09 very important to hit if possible.

NOT high budget (originally thought it would be coded by volunteers), but will result in a very high profile credential for the selected consultant with many of Cincinnati's leading corporate IT management and executives, the best of the local social and digital media consultants, and national-level exposure if the app is successful. Expecting tens of thousands of participants/members of all ages and demographics as this Facebook app is utilized to generate interest and support for a very high visibility public campaign.

Interest parties must be immediately available, local to Cincinnati, or able to travel to Cincinnati immediately (and inexpensively) for initial meetings with the design committee, plus stay VERY connected to the design team through 3 weeks of development, test, and deploy.

Examples of prior work will make a big impact, followed by willingness to do amazing work at a really amazing price for an equally amazing credential.
