Project Description

Autoparts Search Site similar to [url removed, login to view] with functionalities like [url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view] and AirBnB.

I'm looking to build something similar to www.frugalmechanic.com.

Essentially be this will be our main competitor want to have a product that looks and feels much cooler, cleaner, and fresher than theirs.

I would like our search page and results layout to be similar to [url removed, login to view] or [url removed, login to view] - simple & straightforward, yet detailed. Searching by year, make, model drop down menus as well as by VIN should be possible. Another example of an appealing site is www.airbnb.com. The functionality should be somewhat similar.

The way it should flow is: the user goes to the home and sees a splash page that says enter your VIN or select your Year/Make/Model, then the next page asks what part they're looking for and they choose using categories (like how it's done at [url removed, login to view] etc), then they reach the third page which can be the results page - this page can have a pic of the part, the price from each vendor, each vendor's logo, and any special promotions going on at the time from the vendor.

Then once they decide on the vendor they would like to buy from, they can click on that part/price/vendor's logo and be redirected to the vendor's site with that part in their cart (provided that I can pre-add it to the cart).

The search will be based on Commission Junction, Amazon, and other API's with each listed part link should have our affiliate code embedded.

I'd like to incorporate a user rating system that allows users to rate the sellers and the parts. This rating can be based on customer service, ease of website use (after redirection), and ease of making a return. I haven't fine tuned this part of the concept yet so if you think a more basic 0-5 star user rating system may work out better rather than having categories, I can go with that approach as well.

I also want to have a simple user profile where they can sign up to collect their names and emails, would like to implement a Facebook login feature and save their favorite auto car parts, see their last visited and/or last purchased items.

I would also like to have simple CMS based backend system where I can plug in the different API's.

This project can be done in anything from WordPress, Joomla or Drupal or whatever you may seem fit as long it is user-friendly.
