Project Description

My website will list the real-time inventory of brick and mortar retail stores and will build its product listings platform around large chains like Macy's, Tiffany&Co, Gucci, Marc Jacobs or BestBuy as well as from mom and pop shops in small towns.
On the merchant side, Our website platform integrates with point-of-sale systems and allows retailers to upload their inventory onto the site.

The website that I have in mind would allow shoppers the ability to search local shops to find great gifts that can be picked up at nearby stores. I would like to be able to show reviews, and nearby store directions via Google Maps or similar navigation. I would need web support to be able to interact in real time with selected retailers that I have established a relationship with to display accurate products in-stock via Point-of-Sale (POS) Inventory management System , data feed(delimited, comma delimited, etc., or retailer API.

I would like the ability for shoppers to make online purchases so I can track purchases, and create revenue via affiliate commissions, ad sales, and other revenue generating models, but wouldn't mind a solution that redirects to the retailers site if it is more cost effective if you have a strong knowledge of affiliate networks website development. I'm sure I would need to partner with a payment solution like Paypal, Google, Amazon or better checkout process to process payments. If you have the ability to connect our checkout with the retail POS (i.e. If they purchase at Guess, the payment and inventory tracking is done through Guess or auto-connected to their system), You are more likely to gain the bid.

I would like the ability to have retailers or brands push promotions, ads, and discounts to the web as well. This can come later of course depending on cost. Whoever designs this will be apart of the process as we roll out various options so the website/solution will need to be scalable.

Similar websites to model from. When presenting project bid please be prepared to explain the functionality as it relates to my description and these sites or systems:

With elements of delivery in a later project to integrate a delivery system like [url removed, login to view]

I already have other bids on other site and local companies but I wanted to see what was out here in the freelance market. So please be realistic, be knowledgeable and be open about your abilities. Please have references, portfolios, or case studies for review.

More info to follow as I receive bids

What I do not want:
A cheap poorly made website
An aggregation website (I can do that myself)
An affiliate web platform (my son is 12 and he built one)

I need the best and the brightest on this. If you cannot do the whole project but are skilled in a certain aspect, please let me know so we can work out a plan.

Thank you
