Project Description

This is a contract to design and write the PHP code for one web page with following requirements:

3 files are deposited to the server every 30 minutes. They are 2 jpeg pictures and one mp4 video file. The first picture is the first frame of the video and the second picture is the last frame of the video. The video is of the last 24 hours time-lapse camera, looking at a highway and the weather. The idea is for the viewing person to see the last jpeg as the current weather condition and if desired view the last 24h video. At this time all file names are fixed ([url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view] and [url removed, login to view]). But I would entertain an idea of also being able to see previous days as well, so we would need to agree how to store previous day pictures & videos. Both video and pictures are 1920x1080, but they don’t need to be display at that size – resized is OK. Optionally, user may be able to request both at their native resolution (external popup viewer/player… maybe?). I was thinking: a static picture as a background, current condition picture (raised with a soft drop shadow) in a center (maybe 75% of the viewer) and when clicked on it, the video would play. Somewhere on the edges, options to see native/previous videos and pictures. But maybe you have a better idea…? The last requirement is to make sure that no video or pictures are cached, that they are always downloaded from the server.
Availabe are: MySQL 5.0.91-log, PHP [url removed, login to view], Perl 5.8.8
