Project Description

Our project requires a programmer/web designer who can build a creative and professional looking social networking website which resembles the features and characteristics of Yelp. Like Yelp, individuals on our website will create a profile page which places a focus upon the written word (without anything to do with reviews). Unlike Yelp, we look to place a greater emphasis on the networking aspect (similar to Facebook and Twitter). We look to allow our members the ability to build a network and communicate with their friends and colleagues.

We are located in Silicon Valley and our preference is to work with an individual located in the surrounding area. We would like to work with someone who is young, ambitious, and would jump at the opportunity to work with two talented and highly educated individuals to build a company from the ground up.

Although we are seeking someone who is well-versed in website design and programming (PHP, MYSQL, RoR, AJAX), experience isn’t a requirement. Our goal is to bring on this individual to work with us continually once the website goes live and would prefer a talented individual with potential over just experience.

Requirements
1. Located in the Silicon Valley or the San Francisco Bay Area who can meet with us in San Jose.
2. Skilled in common programming languages used to build Social Networking sites (PHP, MYSQL, RoR, AJAX, etc).
3. Creativity and a keen sense for website design (The finished product must have a creative and professional look)
4. Experience using Social Networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Yelp.
5. A resume and portfolio of sample projects.
