Project Description

Dear applicant, you will write a backend & storefront for my Offline Editor (Publisher) and my coming Online Editor. For this I provide a demo photobook brand called “Pixpedia”. The eCommerce open source basis is OpenCart. The project includes:

• Publisher (the client software) Upload-Connector plugin for OpenCart (I have a demo in php)
• Product-Import plugin for OpenCart database (see [url removed, login to view])
• PDF merger & export plugin for Nexpress print queue or hot folder
• Shopping cart connection = landing page after user does upload with the Publisher software
• User must be able to reorder the book for a defined time. After that time user is reminded by email, and PDFs are deleted 1 month later.
• Emails must be sent to user at defined stages of production after payment
• User should be able to preview his PDF book by means of a small PDF page flipper
• Selected product features and final price must be displayed in shopping cart (see [url removed, login to view])
• Some other enhancements in OpenCart to allow customizable products may be necessary, like a barcode tracking extension
• Customization of Shop & Admin features to fit special web2print needs (I will define the needs and provide examples)
• Inclusion of Payment gateway & SSL for different countries
• Creation of a “Pixpedia” web2print example shop incl. artwork and payment gateways for German countries
• Seamless integration of an Online designer into the store, which another freelancer is creating
• Installation on an (Amazon cloud) Windows server R2008
• The OpenCart core code should remain untouched, so we need pure plugins and/or vqMod.
• Create a admin setup template, so shop can be installed and updated easily for other B2B clients
• Install Multi-Shop plugin, so client can have several subshops (having different language, products and prices)
• Install all necessary SEO plugins and focus on SEO friendly URLs
• Provide 24h support for existing B2B clients using our OpenCart Web2Print plugins (per telephone, email and Skype)
• Guarantee availability for at least 5 years

This is the Pixpedia client software that needs to connect to the backoffice and send PDFs. It is currently connected to another backend (Drudix):

An English binary can be downloaded here (just copy it over the above German installation):

Another typical shop (brand) using my Publisher is:

Other similar shops:

My Pixpedia example shop should look at least this good. You should do it in English, but it should be easily translatable to German. Please do some research into the nature & needs of the web2print market before starting development.

Thank you,
