INFO552 – Final Site Guidelines
c) PLAN. You do not have to wait until my proposal feedback to begin designing this website. Upon submission of your proposal, plan your site following similar steps you learned in creating your ePortfolio:
a. Web Standards, Validation, Creative Commons
b. Design (start working with your chosen template)
c. Content, including images (nav bar pages #1 - #6, plus sub-level html webpage #7)
d. Web 2.0 Tools, which includes a required form (covered week 7) plus at least one appropriate web 2.0 app
e. Accessibility & Usability features (covered fully during Weeks 8 and 9)
f. Site Credits (webpage #8)
g. Site Map (webpage #9)
d) DESIGN. You may use any web authoring tool you are most comfortable with to create this website. This website design must be a table-less (div/css) layout design. Be sure to properly credit any templates you use from others (in the footer or on [url removed, login to view] page). The site map for this site should be a web page with the pages of the site listed as an unordered, nested list with all text hyperlinked.
e) TEST USABILITY. Post your site’s URL in the Week 8/9 Q&A forum to get early user feedback on your design.
f) VALIDATE. While not required for the final site design, because you are designing for a client, you should validate the (X)HTML and CSS (and if applicable, for accessibility), for the [url removed, login to view] homepage using the validator tools on W3C’s website (xhtml/css) and the CynthiaTest website (accessibility). Post the validation links (or icons) to the homepage of your site. Copyright your site. Post a Creative Commons icon on your site, if it is appropriate and necessary.
