Project Description

We are looking to have a matchmaking & social networking website constructed. The functionality is somewhat of a cross between [url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view], and Facebook.

Features include the following modules: Matchmaking (with some specific needs), Forums, Groups, Blogs, Polls, etc. All things that are commonly found on various social networking and dating sites.

We are bootstrapping this start up, so ground up custom development probably isn't the way we will go with this.

There are some software packages that have parts of what we are looking for. If it is time & cost effective, we will procure the legal rights to the code for the various scripts for integration into this site. For example, Skadate for the Matchmaking module as well as Activity Points/Gifting, phpBB for the forums, Ndot Sandwich for the Groups, etc. Please note that some of these will require some degree of modification, however we may have the developers of these scripts perform the modifications prior to delivery.

Alternately, we have looked at Boonex Dolphin and while we like much of the functionality, we have concerns about the number of operational issues and bugs that will likely arise from the number of plug-ins we would need to get exactly what we have in mind. If you have a real knowledge of the platform and can work out the issues and perform any modifications necessary, then this may be the best path to choose.

{{{We are also open to other solutions, so if you have a suggestion for a better way of building this site please let us know.}}}

Integrating plug-ins, widgets, and APIs from social networking sites (Facebook, Pinterest, Google+, Twitter, Linked In, etc.) and other service providers (Google (analytics, translation, custom search, maps), Open Inviter, Norton/McAfee, etc.) will also be required. We will use Zen Cart as a shopping cart, [url removed, login to view] as a payment gateway and HTTPS as the protocol.

This will be a high volume site so scalibility and optimization are very important.

This project will be awarded to someone with a prior history of successfully developing similar sites. Prior to awarding this assignment, we will want to visit these sites. The ability to handle installation & beta testing a major plus.

Fluent English is a must.

This is a development project, but there is the opportunity for a longer term relationship.

More detailed specifications will be discussed with the most qualified respondents. Final project price and time frame will discussed as well.

Thank you for your time.
