Project Description

Project: A website for Ameliart, a UK stationery publisher.
Contact: Amelia Freeman

I wish to sell stock via this website to both trade and public through two portals. My current website is inadequate and looks too “homemade?? with none of the functionality I need. (see [url removed, login to view])

The new site will use all my own graphics and text, the layout and navigation will be like another card publisher’s website, with my graphics and text in place of theirs. (I refer to their site as “the template site?? for the remainder of this document).

See template site at: [url removed, login to view]

I am open to coders suggesting modifications of this format. There are some I need to make already. See below.

Navigation:

Main changes from the template site:

The first page will ask the user to either go to the “public?? or “trade?? site. It means building two almost identical sites, the only difference are prices, quantities, P&P. The graphics are identical.

When looking at product ranges, I would not like the website user to loose sight of the top half section of the enlarged product shot whilst scrolling on thumbnails. To see this problem on template website go to “greeting cards?? then “photographic range??. if you scroll far enough you can't see it enlarged when you click it.

Main menu bar will not have: “ecards??, “trade area?? and “find a stockist??. But everything else will be the same with different titles and graphics of course.

Graphics:

I have about 100 products in total, but would like space for another 50 or so more.

Updating:

I must be able to update all the text and images after the website is completed.

Payment (ecommerce):

Website will allow payment via paypal and major debit credit cards, but need to learn about how this works more first.
