Project Description

I need an sh or bash shell script that, when given the Google Video DOCID, YouTube VID, Vimeo ID, or identifying number for any other video site as an option, and a filename to output, will output the source FLV (Flash Video) or WMV or whatever format the site uses to the filename/path given to it as a parameter.

If you know of other video sites aside from Google Video, YouTube, and Vimeo, please list them in your bid and include them in the shell script. The more the better. I only require, however, Google Video, YouTube, and Vimeo, as a minimum.

This should just be a matter of a few well-crafted wget or curl statements, ideally, but you may need to be crafty as some of the sites obscure the location of the FLV file or source video.

I have attached a skeleton for the shell script you will write, which gets the options from the command line and displays usage nicely. You just need to fill in the get_from_* functions and have them save the FLV or source video file to $OUTPUTFILE or, if $OUTPUTFILE is not defined, to the ID .flv or .wmv or .whatever the source format may have been.

Payment will be delivered upon successful completion of the shell script. I will test the shell script on three videos, one from each site. If the tests succeed, I will pay you immediately.

This should take an experienced programmer no more than an hour to complete as no actual video processing or complex parsing is really necessary, just some well crafted commands. Since I've already prepared the bare bones of the shell script for you, I expect bids to be in the $30-50 range or less.
