Project Description

On the [url removed, login to view] platform there is a feature called "Probes". Probes are small python scripts that use RSS feeds, public APIs and other data sources to generate content recommendations. You can think about them as advanced content feeds. Here is two samples:

You can see the source code of the probe as shown here:

We are looking for contractors that can make probes for us at a fixed price per probe were the process is like this:

1. You tell us what probe you want to make. Sample: "Todays most viewed YouTube video posted on Reddit".
2. We approve that we are interested in that probe.
3. You develop it according to instructions below.

Important with this assignment is that you are not only going to develop but also come up with an idea of a probe that would be interesting. This could be anything basically. Use feeds with APIs like instagram, youtube, twitter and so on. You can also use other techniques like machine learning to identify certain type of content. Anything goes as long as it is useful for users.

Also a very important thing to consider is that "Probes" can be configured by our users based on it´s settings. For instance the above sample with "Popular and Top Stories from DIGG" that probe has one setting named "RSS Feeds" as you can see here:
[url removed, login to view]
Our users can then copy this probe clicking here:
[url removed, login to view] (you need to be logged in to see the "copy" option)
And here is the copy/create popup:
[url removed, login to view]
And as you can see here they can simply change the RSS Feeds parameter and create a new probe named for instance "Mashable Articles". So what is important is that we are not interested in new probes that has same parameters as existing Probes. It has to be a new type of probe that cannot be configured based on existing probes.

How to develop "Probes":
Register here: [url removed, login to view]
Then follow instructions here: [url removed, login to view]

The price you offer would be per probe. And we are interested in many probes as long as they are, as mentioned, useful.

Note: We have selected Job Type here as "hourly" but we want your offer to be per Probe.
