I have a project that needs to take a model and export out the bone transformations to a JSON format text file using Maya Embedded Language (MEL) scripting. The idea is to have our artist create a facial expression and then save all the bone data so we can save it as an average to apply to the model in the game. In the script, it needs to create a dialog box that have a drop down box with categories populated (hair, mouth, body, etc..), a Display Name for the feature transform, a way make it use the selected model or select a model, and then a submit button to process the data to a text file as JSON. The example JSON text would be like this:
