I am behind schedule on a portfolio animation project that I'm doing in State Plus. State Plus is a series of extensions that I've written for the Xtranormal State machinima system.

The project is called Fem Trekz and it is a Star Trek fan animation. I have modified the stock characters to make them look like Star Trek characters. However, there just aren't enough sets. I came up with a way to port models and props into State and I have some game assets that are (in theory) portable into State. Currently the intermediary format is Wavefront Object.

Currently I have the building blocks of the interior of the starship in MAX format which originated from Elite Force. However, it needs to be sliced and diced in a way that will work with State. Part of this slicing and dicing requires recreating the texture mapping. I have all the images but they aren't mapped properly since the original game data used the Quake3 engine. Also, some geometry is missing due to this quirky format and needs to be recreated. This is typically curved surfaces or LCARS panels.

The State engine doesn't do realtime shading. So it needs ambient occlusion, face-based shading, and light blooms baked into the textures. You will have to use footage from Elite Force as a reference to recreate that effect, as Elite force did these effects in realtime and State won't.

Due to a bug in the importer occasionally hairline gaps show up between elements and these require putting "gap blocker" backdrops behind them. It's a kludge but necessary. I may be able to fix this problem, otherwise it's just one extra step.

I have someone who suffered through a lot of R&D working out all these technical details who can bootstrap you.

There are about a dozen individual rooms to port over. Just remember that even though the geometry is there, everything needs to get broken up into elements, smoothing groups applied, textures recreated, etc... So it's almost as if you're making it from scratch. The shuttle bay is not that accurate to the ship design and needs more radical layout changes.

I am raising my bid on this from what it was before because I want someone with enough experience that they can come in and do this with a minimal amount of trial and error.

I have about a dozen sets and I need them done in a month tops.
