Project Description

Requirements: Develop Rails 3 geocoder application to see friends in the area by radius. You do not need to worry about friendship relationships. Every user account in system will be considered as friends. Each user will have United States street address, city, state and zip code. When a user login to the website, default home page should display Google map with list of all other users within 10 mile radius. When they click on the point, it should display name and address of that user. User data will come from the user model. Home page should have a select-box where user can select radius, 10,20,30,40, etc. When a user change the radius mile, Google map should automatically display users in the selected radius possibly in Ajax fashion. All I need is a single home page showing list of users around current_user in the Google map. Editing user profile user not be a big problem since it comes with Devise gem. I’m including a pre-build rails 3 template(check attached file [url removed, login to view]) which uses Mongoid to get started and if you can start building on top of this will be much faster. It already has necessary fields in User model. Once you are done or ready to show this application, it must be deployed on the Heroku so that I could take a look and make comments as necessary. Thank you for looking!
