We require a simple vbscript that can flag (notify with text) unflagged emails in a Lotus Notes client. (using OLE)
Basically the scenario is this - we have a shared mailbox which is accessible by all members of our group. At present, we have have a person delegating those emails by manually right-clicking on it and adding a flag with their name in the comment box. We would like to automate the process by having a script/program do that. We already made a program with a GUI for the purpose, but none of us have any experience with the Lotus Notes API. We plan to call the script from the program/GUI. Therefore, the script has to be modular and capable of accepting various command-line parameters.
For reference, this script works just fine [url removed, login to view] for us, so if your script is similar (uses the same interfaces etc) then I know it will work in our environment.
We also require basic commenting on the script so that we can modify and extend it as per our requirements in the future.
Now I want the script to support command-line parameters so that it works like the examples below:
"[url removed, login to view] FlagOldest John" -> Should flag the oldest unflagged email in the inbox to "John", and it should return a standard exit code (0 of success, 1 if no more unflagged emails, 2 if there was an error etc). It should also print the sender, subject and the time of the email, to stdout.
"[url removed, login to view] GetTotalCount" -> Total the total number of emails in the inbox .
"[url removed, login to view] GetUnflaggedCount" -> Return the number of unflagged emails
"[url removed, login to view] GetFlagged John" -> Should print to stdout all the emails (sender, subject, date separated by commas, in a single line), with a counter at the top indicating the number of emails which have been flagged for "John" (count could also be indicated by the exit code)
Bid Selection criteria:
Obviously, you need to have experience with Lotus Notes and VBA / VBS. Any examples of prior work will help. If you can show a sample script like the one I posted that can say, get the flagged email count (for example) that'll be excellent, and I will select you immediately.
If you're selected and I feel you are the right person for the task - there might be more related work later on as well!
Good luck, and please feel free to ask any questions.
