Project Description

Hi deepbluetech,

I'm the IT operations manager for a Textile engineering company that focuses on eco-wear. We have new designs and new product line ideas everyday( ranging from Shopping bags, Towels to Jeans & t-shirts, etc ) ... It involves complex mix & match of fibres , fabric & dyes. The science & engineering behind these elements are quite fluid and changing with new technologies in their fields.

I'm looking for VBA programmer who has expert skills with Windows default ActiveX controls TreeView & ListView, and ability to layer RDBMS like concepts over excel workbooks & sheets.

It basically involves complex Self Joins and Looping constructs to build Trees with unknown no. of elements. These element/characteristics will be defined on-the-fly on the TreeView with ability to instantiate data .. in another Table of instances...

I know this methodology has not been adopted for a variety of reasons including performance. We intend to counter that problem by just creating databases ( excel workbooks ) and work out a sorting system.

I used to be in the IT business.. started out as a VB programmer and retired the business as an Infrastructure Architect. So, I am familiar with some of this stuff. I attempted to catch up on my vba coding, by googling & forums... but it takes up too much time.

I already have a somewhat disfunctional prototype in Access, and I am fixated on a few principles of datamodeling that I want for this project. However, I am open to ideas on the subject.

I've attached some screenshots of my access database design & GUI with some sample test data. I think that will explain better my requirements.

I was also wondering what the general effort in terms of coding.

I have been brief about my requirements. You can email me at [url removed, login to view]@[url removed, login to view], if you wish to clarify further.

Thank you
