Project Description

We are looking for writers with good English and Brazilian Portuguese skills to translate how-to articles to Portuguese. Articles range in length, but average around 60-800 words.

You need to have excellent Portuguese grammar and spelling, and very good English comprehension. Computer translated articles will not be accepted. We are not seeking word-for-word, literal translations. Instead, we want you to write in natural sounding Portuguese using the English content as source material. The goal of this project is to create fully localized content that is helpful and reads naturally to Brazilian readers - we don't want articles that track the grammar, phrasing, or idioms of English.

Contractors who do a good job and deliver articles reliably will be offered regular work. The first stage of the job is a 2 article test, which is what you are bidding on here. Good performance on the test will lead to you being offered additional work on similar articles and rate. We have a thousands of articles to translate, and can offer continuous work to those who reliably produce quality articles.

As part of your application, we would like you to rewrite the following section of one of our articles in natural-sounding Portuguese. Those writers who do a good job with this will be offered a chance to complete the paid test. When you have completed your translation of the sample please message it this account on Freelancer. Please also include your email address with your sample so we can contact you further.

How to be bold

Introduction:

If you're shy, hesitant, or passive, you run the risk of leading a boring life marked by routine and unfulfilled goals. Most progress has been led by people who were bold--scientists, public servants, artists, entrepreneurs, and others who didn't wait for opportunities; they created opportunities. So if you want to be bold and unstoppable, here are some ways to kick start your momentum.

Steps:

1. Make the first move. Whenever you're feeling hesitant--especially in your interactions with others--swallow your pride and make the first move. Ask your acquaintance if they'd like to go to the bar down the street for drinks after work. Tell the person you fancy that you've got two tickets to a concert and you'd like them to come with you. Give your significant other a big hug and apologize for that time you overreacted a few months ago. Smile and wink at the attractive cashier.

6. Rediscover who you are. Ultimately, boldness has to do with coming from your center, what you believe. It is not about what you do, it is about who you are. If you do not know who you are, you can never be truly bold. Start really appreciating your uniqueness. Discover what makes you different and then parade it around for all to see. Put flags on it, call attention to it and love yourself for it no matter what others think. That is the heart of boldness.
