Project Description

User Experience Engineer for Appvance Enterprise

Appvance Inc. seeks to hire a long term contractor to provide Javascript and User Interface engineering for the Appvance Enterprise performance testing platform. You will work closely with Appvance engineers to implement the product's Web browser user interfaces. You will work on well defined projects to create user flows, HTML pages, CSS style sheets, and Javascript functions. You will make svn commits to the product code repository.

The product user interface is a set of Ajax-enabled Web pages served by a Jetty and Tomcat application server. The pages contain HTML, CSS, and Javascript functions. The page loads in the browser and the Javascript functions make REST calls to the backend to get dynamic data. Details on the product are at [url removed, login to view]

For example, a typical project will be to implement a new "Test Status" page. This page displays a list of running tests and updates dynamically every 10 seconds. You will define the user flow on the page. You will create the HTML page to show the list. You will create the HTML use the existing app CSS styles - and those you add to the CSS for the app. Within the HTML will be a CSS-based table with multiple rows to display the most recent 10 status entries. You will define the HTML and CSS for each row. You will then show our engineers where to insert Javascript code to make the REST calls to get the status for each row.

We will provide you with a Statement Of Work (SOW) for each project. We expect this work to continue for a long time to come.

You must have experience with:
Javascript coding
CSS styling
REST protocols
JSON data coding
HTML coding

NOTE: This is NOT building Web pages for a Web site, this IS building Web pages for a highly dynamic software application with a Web user interface.
