Project Description

Our decision will be weighted 70% towards cost, 30% towards portfolio.

Overview:

Our company makes customised furniture and we are looking to design a website on the wordpress engine. The main goals of the site are (1) to provide an easily browsable catalogue of projects that we have previously completed (with the facility for us to update the catalogue with future projects) and (2) to serve as a conduit for new customers to provide us with project details (via email and/or uploaded file (pdf, photo, etc)). The entire site will further require optimisation for SEO.

Website design:

The main homepage will feature:

- a standard header
- a dynamic main image (scrolling between 5+ images)
- a link to contact us via email
- a link to upload a photo of a project
- a matrix of randomly selected projects from our catalogue of previously completed projects
- a social media feed
- an area of text for SEO

We have a visual prepared for how the homepage should be laid out, which we will provide to interested applicants.

Individual projects will be indexed via subcategories. For example, we may have an individual page for a bedside table, which would feature on a subcategory homepage for bedroom furniture. We therefore need templates for both individual projects and the categories into which they fall. We need to be able to create and index these pages accordingly.

As stated above, each project will be allotted individual pages (project pages) - these pages will look exactly like individual product pages on merchant websites. On each project page, we require a facility for users to engage with all major forms of social media, twitter, facebook, google+, etc.

Again, we have a visual prepared for how project pages should be laid out, which we will provide to interested applicants.

In summary, we have already a good idea of how the site should look and operate, so we require the translation of our vision into code. The successful candidate will therefore need to be proficient in website design, Wordpress code, site indexing, template building, graphic design and SEO.

***WE DO NOT REQUIRE A CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. WE WANT TO USE WORDPRESS TO UPDATE/INDEX CONTENT***
