Project Description

This project is for Magento consulting and development and I'm looking for a highly experienced Magento freelancer for this project. I'm in the early stages of planning a migration from a highly customized Magento CE 1.5.1 site to Magento CE 1.8.x/2.x. While the overall design (look and feel) of the site will remain the same, I want to revisit all of my customizations and how my products are listed and make sure I'm following normal/best practices, minimizing customizations (for easier upgrades) and optimizing website performance.

Initially I want to start with how my products are listed and design the listings so all of my marketplaces can be managed centrally from Magento (i.e. order processing, inventory, prices, etc. for Amazon and eBay - potentially additional marketplaces in the future). For example, I have a SKU for a product which I sell by the piece and by the case with different prices according to marketplace. For example, If someone buys a case (with 10 items in it) then the underlying single item SKU should be reduced by a quantity of 10. I'm looking for an experienced Magento developer who has experience in this type of environment and can recommend the best approach - and knows how others are doing this same type of listings.

As the project progresses we will look at other functional requirements and the best way to meet them - and finally working on matching the look and feel from the old site in the new site. I have a development site which will be used to develop the new website - all work will be performed on that site.
