Project Description

Hi,

I have a model railway website built in Joomla. The version of Joomla is out of date , I need some new articles to be added and some additional functionality added to the site.

The web site is [url removed, login to view]

There are three parts to this project.
1. Upgrade
The web site is running Joomla [url removed, login to view] and the successful candidate has to be competent in Joomla administration, specifically in upgrading as the site needs to the final release version [url removed, login to view] as a minimum. I am happy to consider upgrading to J2 or even version 3 if the functionality of these later versions shows benefits and the version is stable.
To help in understanding what is already on the web site, the site currently has 47 articles (some are stubs). There are a few components like phoca gallery and captcha and a few plug-ins. I have included the list of plugins and modules in an excel file to allow you to determine what functionality is present on the site and so that you can clearly ascertain the complexity of the upgrade.

As you will need to be given full access to the site to make the necessary changes for the upgrade, I require some references/contacts preferably in the UK with whom I can speak with to confirm your credentials.

2. I also want this person to find and install an of-the-shelf plug-in / component that will allow me to add lists of multi-column items such as lists of model railway locomotives on the layout, wagons and trains on the layout with pictures that will allow the viewer to click through the list items onto a further page with some details. I will provide a basic list of 10 items with the relevant photo and article details to be added by the successful candidate.

3. Finally I have five 2000 word documents (with 5 to 10 photos each) that need to be uploaded and laid out in an appropriate form on the site. I believe that 2000 words is too long for a single article and I would like this person to either explain or demonstrate how they go about adding a "linked" series of articles that allows a viewer to seamlessly read the overall document.

I am sure there are questions you may have in relation to this project. Please feel free to come back to me with questions or suggestions.

Many thanks

David Townend
