Project Description

Doc file attached with same description and some screenshots.

Optimization and customization of already created web page with existing Internet Explorer and Firefox compatibility issues.

Website contains mostly open source code. It is based off the XSLTV grid viewing program for XMLTV data files. The web page is XML data (XMLTV) which is converted to a HTML version of TV Listings with all processing on the client side. I am currently using subscription service Schedules Direct to download my XML data. Will not provide login to Schedules Direct site but will through email send updated XML Data daily containing the 7 days worth of data of shows, times, dates show info, etc. that I will be using. Code provided must be unlocked so it can be changed by me or other programmers at a later date. All code must be either Open Source or become property of me.
Website will be saved in its own directory.../TVListings/[url removed, login to view]
Site is currently hosted on a godaddy windows server. (cannot user PHP) Not switching to Linux.
Looking to build up site slowly with 4-5 jobs/issues monthly sometimes bi-monthly. Looking for long term cooperation.

Have access to through godaddy hosting center:
[url removed, login to view] Runtime 2.0
MySQL DB 5.0
MS Access
SQL Server Database

Test project - All screenshots were taken with Yahoo (new) Skin
A Currently web page only loads XML data in Firefox. Pages loads without data/grids in IE (even when run on desktop, not a server issue), when run through a browser compatibility checker no issues were found. Need to make compatible with IE7 as well as all other major browsers
B Must move the preferences section found on top left hand corner of the main page and have it run off of a separate HTML admin page - tvadmin.html. No password needed for this page

C Remove the clock/calendar shown on top right hand corner from page showing current time/date and add to the top main bar.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Job 1 -
Optimize code already existing for speed and loading time. Other page setups can be discussed and used.
Want to be able to host same but slightly varied TV listing data from TVlistings/[url removed, login to view] on a section of my main webpage page which will have a much smaller XML data feed – 15 Channels max, same 7 day length (different source). Must also be able to have its own separate admin html page. All these files will be hosted in main directory.

Job 2
A Need to change time format on top main bar from 24 hour format to 12 hour format currently shows as 00:00 to 24:00 Add AM and PM to time bar
B Need to duplicate the time bar and time scroll (left and right) feature shown on top bar every twenty grid lines down.

Job 3
Add a search box to the main bar which can scrub for titles of TV shows.
User will search for title of TV show and a results page will populate all tv shows available with “like xxxx*” results.
Example: Visitor types in “Saw scrubs” results can list all shows with saw and or scrubs in the title.
Results page will return data in list form organized at returned with title first, then date, finally time.
Info is given under this and link is still accessible which can take them to IMDB just like the TV listing grid.

Job 4
Add to all TV Listing grids 2 small images heart and a skull (you can pick initial image – we can change at later time)
This images then can be clicked and add a vote to a poll.
A click on a heart will add the show located in the corresponding grid to a list of visitors “Favorite shows for the” Week, Month and Year.
A click on a skull will add that show to a list of visitors “Most Hated shows for the” Week, Month and Year.
The mini TV Listings I will have on my main page must also feed to the same data.
All 6 polls results must be viewable on a separate HTML page.
Each Poll can have a variable on the programming side on how many results to grab and display.
Ie: I can choose initially to show top 25 results for each poll but at any time can go to code and change variable to show more or less results.
I Must be able to reset or alter these results at anytime – only admin can do this..
Must be able to show these results in other places such as my main page. Will want to show combination of top5 favorite shows for the week and top5 most hated shows for the week on my main page.
No need to worry about multiple votes from same computer. Don’t care.
