I want a thoroughly researched academic essay that zeroes in on the rituals and ceremonies of the Yoruba people of West Africa. The piece should explore why these practices emerged, how they are performed today, and the cultural meanings encoded in every drumbeat, prayer, libation, and costume element. While the spotlight remains on ritual life, you may weave in brief references to attire only when it deepens the reader’s understanding of the ceremonial context.
