Project Description

We want to create a downloadable App that will serve like a dashboard for smart phones (iphone, android and windows), tablets, laptops and PCs showing wait times in the ER and beds vacancy in different hospitals that can be offered as a mobile phone/internet service as well as can be shown via a computerized display in the ER and hospital admissions area/lobby.
This App will be for the urgent care and non-emergency cases. Later, this App might be used for even the emergency cases (as hospitals are known to turn away or even ignore them whilst they are waiting) emergency patients if their ER is busy.
The patient /relative should be able to enter the patient's insurance, what problem they have, do they need a generalist or specialist, and the App could recommend a facility to go to.
The app should allow us to generate certain weekly/monthly reports (from the back office) such as, telling a particular insurance company, how many of their members did we redirect from the emergency room to a step-down facility for care because they were non-acute.

The information that the App should be able to give includes all that is mentioned above as well as the:
1. Nearest 10 hospitals mapped from a patient's location (use the mobile device's Geographic Information System)
2. "Wait time" in their ERs (We will provide the existing links from where the information can be obtained and the App should allow us to add more links as they become available).
3. "Bed availability" for each of these hospital (We expect the hospitals to eventually provide us the information - therefore this functionality should be included in the back-office of the App).
