Transforming a 3D model inside-out using Mathematica or some other software

I am an artist interested to hire your help to transform a 3D model of an elephant inside out [horizontally] and create a roughly 7” depth bass relief of the elephant’s volume inside. I believe this transformation can be accomplished using Wolfram Mathematica software and perhaps also some other software too.
My thought is that the transformation could be set up using a virtual oval-cylindrical mirror. To get the mirror effect, you want to map each (mesh) point on the surface of the elephant to the point directly opposite the mirror from it. This would give you the elephant inside out. (You'd really only need to work out what happens in a horizontal planar section since the height of a point is unchanged by the mirror). You'll probably also need to try different size mirrors, including mirrors that cross the elephant surface.
For the relief effect, you can try to scale down (multiply by some %) the distance that the mirror image is from the mirror and manipulate some of the resizing by hand. (tusks for example could be decreased in depth more than the rest of the elephant's surface).

The shape of the oval for the oval cylindrical mirror should be 93.42 inches short diameter and 128.026 inches long diameter (in proportion if not actual size)
