Customized AJAX Enabled Web Controls

We are in process of developing a website and we want to outsource some of its functions. What we want: We want certain web controls developed to suit the environment of our website. For starters, we need a file upload control with progress indication. This control should use AJAX and JQuery only and no Flash, no Silverlight or any other external plugin. It would be a plus if it could preview its thumbnail when a picture file is selected before its actually uploaded. The control should not lose its functionality after a partial postback within an UpdatePanel.
