This is a single page on an existing Sharepoint 2010 site that will allow new employees to read and acknowledge that they have read a number of pdf induction documents. There should also be a report page showing the results of the progress of each employee. Note the attached requirements document.
It would be preferable for you to have a site that you could design and demonstrate the page and then provide instructions for us to implement on the local site. Alternatively we could work together on a shared session.

To implement an HR read acknowledgement page for a number of HR induction documents.
The HR department has asked for a ‘site’ to be created on their existing 2010 SharePoint server to record the progress and acknowledgement of each of six to eight pdf documents.
The HR induction documents used for this page are to be centrally located and accessed from other pages/sites and through search.
The new employee would navigate to a page under the HR menu entitled ‘Induction Documents’. They would then be presented with a list of documents they are required to acknowledge. The first document can be opened and when closed they are prompted for one of three possible responses to a statement like.
‘I acknowledge that I have read this document’
Type their name in an entry field and answer the following.
3. Close – without acknowledgement as they may wish to read it later
If the employee presses yes to a document an email is sent to HR confirming that it has been acknowledged. The transaction is recorded in SharePoint (SP) for reporting and the document item is no longer available from the list but is still visible.
If the employee presses no to a document an email is sent to HR advising that the conditions have not been accepted. The transaction is recorded in SP for reporting and the document remains visable should the user wish to answer yes at a later stage.
Close (without acknowledgement)
If the employee would like to read the document at another time they can answer Close and no further action is taken.
The same applies to the remaining documents.
An answer is mandatory.
Administrator / HR
The HR administrator should be able to add, remove and replace documents to the list noting updated versions.
They will also need to:
• Add the new employee to the induction list and send them a link for the page.
• Enter the employee’s start date to enable the calculation of days since start date for reporting.
• Be able to remove the employee from the list once the acknowledgements are complete.
• Receive and email only in the event of a yes or no answer by the employee. No other automation is required.
SP is required to produce two reports on employee acknowledgement progress.
Probably a table layout in employee start date order indicating the yes/no status of each document for each employee.
Outstanding Acknowledgement Report
This report lists the employees that have one or more acknowledgments outstanding after 7 days, 14 days and over 30 days. This should show which documents are outstanding and be sorted by least to most days outstanding.
The number of documents that need to be acknowledged may change and the documents themselves will be updated from time to time so these versions need to be recorded. The HR Administrator will not be a technical person.
The acknowledgement page should have contribute permission to all of the new employees. The HR person should be able to add and remove these people from the list, update the documents and produce the reports.
