Academic Projects: Project 1: Bluetooth Wireless Application Development at Leeds Metropolitan University, Leeds, United Kingdom. Description: As in the daily life many people are using cellular phones. And most of the cellular phones, which are being used, support Java applications. But we also need to know that these devices, which are being used, also run Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME) The JABWT ( Java API’s for Bluetooth Wireless technology) standard which is defined by JSR 82 (Java Specification requests) specifications is mainly used to support portable, secure and highly usable Bluetooth applications. By this now in the present world, mobile phone manufactures have agreed to JABWT specifications and announced that their Wireless devices and other products will also run JABWT applications. Java Bluetooth API The Java Bluetooth API mainly depends on the Java Generic Connection Frame (GCF) work which is limited to J2ME; as there is a chance for it to include GCF in to J2SE. The Java Bluetooth applications are mainly used or can be made accessible for a broader range of systems. The Java API’s for the Bluetooth defines two packages. They are: 1. Javax.bluetooth: This is for core Java Bluetooth API 2. Javax.obex: This is for OBEX (object exchange) protocol. As in JSR 82 specifications, the Bluetooth system must Support BCC (Bluetooth control centre); which is a control panel almost same like the application which allows a user to define specific values or objects for certain configuration parameters. As the above description we aim to develop an application for Wireless Bluetooth Communication in Java. Objectives : Any Bluetooth applications need to have these components 1. Stack Initialization: Initializing the Bluetooth device in a vendor dependent way. 2. Managing the Device: allow us to retrieve or request static information about the Bluetooth device or the Device in the neighborhood. 3. Device discovery: Allows finding other devices. 4. Service discovery: Allows finding nearby devices, no matter 5. Communication between devices Project 2: Engine Fuel Indicator Simulation Software at Hindustan Aeronautics limited, Hyderabad. (This project was done for partial fulfillment the requirements of Bachelors of Technology, JNTU) Description: The EFI is a line replacement unit (LRU) designed and developed for LCA by Bharat Electronics. The Basic functional requirement of EFI is to acquire the Engine data provided by Engine Monitoring System (HEEM-EU) and Fuel Data by environment Control & Fuel Monitoring System (ECFM) and displays them on the Display Panel. Apart from this, the HEEM-EU system checks the health status of EFI and provides the critical Engine parameters in string format and sends the data through RS-422 communication link. The EFI simulation Software is the user-friendly menu driven GUI software. The main purpose of the EFI simulation software is to capture the data from HEEM-EU in the form of hexadecimal format through RS-422 serial link and convert the data to original Engineering data format and displays on the monitor. This simulation software acquires the critical Engine parameters (i.e., Analog signals like compressor rotor speed – N2, Turbine Discharge Temperature – T5C and variable Exhaust Nozzle – A8) through PCL-237 (Dual Port RS-422/485 serial interface card) and displays on monitor. PCL-237 is add-on card from Dynalog Systems. This PCL-237 card is placed in PC slot and EFI simulation PC communication with HEEM-EU system through RD-422 cable. The software is developed in C language. Areas of Interest: 1. System Programming 2. Artificial intelligence 3. Network and Data Communication 4. Database Management Strengths: 1.
