Hello,
I want to learn Android Development and I try to create a very simple Android App using Android Studio 1.1
All I want to do is to add an "Action Bar" to my app.
That Actionbar should contain a simple text and a textview that I want to use as a countdowntimer display.
And maybe also an icon.
I dont know why because I think that I use a correct theme and API Level 19 - but I always get a NULL error here :
[login to view URL] :
@Override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState)
{
[login to view URL](savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
// experiment with the ActionBar
ActionBar myActionBar = getActionBar();
[login to view URL]("myTitle"); // <--- NULL Pointer Exception
So obviously there is no Actionbar available.
Emulator uses Nexus S 4.0" , resolution 480x800
All Stettings in Android Studio are default.
So here is what I need:
Download the ZIP, it contains the complete Android Studio project
Correct the source so that an ActionBar is shown and send me back correct source code, perfect would be a Studio Project.
And I need information what you did and why I had this problem.
Hi,
I am an expert android developer and i would like to help fix your small action bar problem.
i have experience with action bars from AppCompact library (support library) to ActionbarSherlock (support library) and even the native Android action bar provided since android API level 11.
I will certainly use my experience to fix your code.
Looking forward.
Thanks.
