I have a client who inspects the fire safety regulations within buildings. They enter a building and check all rooms for possible unsafe situations according to fire safety regulations. Once they notice an unsafe situation, they make notes of it and send a report of all notes to their customer so they can improve the situation.
His question is this to automate this process. So they want to be able to open PDF files on their Android tablets. These PDF files are the blueprints of buildings. Within these PDF blueprints they want to be able to add markers and add comments to those markers. The comments must be selectedable through some pre-defined pull down menu's.
For instant: they are in a specific office room and see there is no fire distinguisher. They mark this office on the PDF blueprint which will get a reference number, for example number 1. The comment will also be marked with this reference number 1 and connected to the marker in the PDF.
The comment (in this example the missing fire distinguisher) must be selectable through a menu-structure. The first choice is the sort of room, this menu has 12 choices of different sort of rooms. The next level of the menu has choices referring to the sort of situation, this has also about 10-15 choices. The last level is about the detailed state of the situation which has also about 10-15 pre-defined choices. The choices in the second and third are depending on the previous choices.
When the detailed situation is chosen, they need to be able to add a photo to the comment and some extra additional text.
After having checked the whole building they probably have multiple markers in the PDF connected to comments with photos and pre-defined situation details.
These comments have to be send by email in a standard report format.
Note: the 3 level menu structure with each 10-15 choices have to be manageable via a CMS.
