Project Description

Hello, I'm Jess, 30-something mother of two, writing to you from the UK.

Every morning on our way to school my 6 year old son Finley tells me a story about his baby sister Lena. He has a brilliant imagination, and I'd like to develop the his tale into a short animated film for my family. I have a budget and the rough story but no fixed ideas about how it should look or how the tale might be grow. I'm looking for someone who might be interested in working with me to develop the story and who can then go on to make the film. I imagine the finished film being between 2 and 4 minutes.

This may sound like a vanity project for a woman on maternity leave. And maybe it is a little... but I want to give a lot of creative freedom, and I'm willing to fund it. That's got to be an good combination, right? For a large part of my career I worked in TV production, and doing senior-level stuff for big-name entrepreneurs (including the rather famous british one who owns amongst other things a spaceship), so I understand collaboration and creative work, and nurturing ideas into reality. I won't ask for the impossible, and I won't expect you to read my mind. What I'm looking for, above all, is a fun, satisfying experience for all concerned, and a bit of work we can all be proud of.

Ideally I'm looking for students to work with partly to keep costs down, but also because I hope whoever takes this on will see it as a piece of thier own personal work, rather than just a gig.

For that reason, I'm looking to have skype conversations first with anyone who's interested, so I can tell you Finley's story and we can see what sparks.
