Hi, I'm trying to find a solution to a DNS problem. I'll pay $30 for a solution. The problem is as follows: Assume an ISP with 2 name servers using BIND and configured as "caching-only" (they only store cached DNS query results). This ISP would like to set a "wildcard A record" - meaning that all queries for non existent domains should be redirected to a certain IP address. If we simply add a wildcard record in the current situation, it will catch all queries that are not stored in the cache (which is something we DONT want, we only want to use the wildcard record when we get a nxdomain response from the root name server). Can this be done WITHOUT changing the BIND code and WITHOUT adding hardware ? Thank you Idan
