I would like a recommendation for a VPS to set this up on. I prefer possibly to use [url removed, login to view] - Once I have purchased server I will then need it setup and installed with a working and functioning Nagios. I would like to install OPSVIEW Server on top of this to give it a GUI, unless I am over looking things.
1) BASIC setup that works - We'll then back it up before testing functionality
2) Add 2 remote servers to be monitored and instructions of any steps that you did to make each work. There would be two different locations with different servers at each location to monitor. Two Static IP'S with servers after those IPS. I would like you to show me how to use this system as well as setup it up and show me how to add/edit notifications and other minor things.
I'm NOT very familiar with Nagios, and I don't want to invest the time to read up on it until I see it fulfilling what I would like to accomplish.
Possibility to extend the work on this if you're good and quick with linux admin
ULTIMATE GOAL : I would like to monitor 2 physical clients with three different static IP addresses, then there will be about 4-8 servers per location to monitor. I would like to put this on a monitor at my office to get a birds eye view on everything and monitor it all. I would need help creating an SSL tunnel possibly if that is needed to get keep it secure and make sure the monitoring.
If the VPS and the BID's are not cost effective in my opinion we will not be doing this.
