Arena simulation project.
I’m looking for someone who can built a model in Arena. The project is about the maintenance of an air compressor. The compressor consists of 9 different parts, each with their own failure rate (see data sheet). Some of the failures are interdependent. (see data sheet).
The point is to optimize maintenance and see what the different costs and maintenance visits are in different possible scenarios. We want to see if it makes to change the maintenance policy from preventive maintenance to predictive maintenance.
Some of the components have failures that can be predicted. This the detectability percentage of each component (see data sheet).
There are multiple types of maintenance visits that can take place during the time of the maintenance contract (10 years). In the datasheet you will find the characteristics of each visit. Each visit improves each part of the compressor, but not always completely. This is called imperfect repair. I know how this should be incorporated in the model, if necessary I can explain later on. Each type of visit is scheduled with a fixed frequency (see data sheet).
These are the scenario’s that should be investigated
- The situation as it now with the planned visited and only preventive maintenance (no detectability)
- Only preventive maintenance but change the frequency of the visits.
- Include the predictive maintenance.
I know how the model should be built, and how certain features should be modeled so I can give more detailed information about that. I’m just looking for someone who knows the program to build it. There are probably different options to model this. I would choose to have 1 machine and run the simulation 100/1000 times.
