Project Description

Hello there,

I am looking for a talented script/story writer to help me create stories based around medical conditions. I am creating a a database of virtual patients to help teach medical undergraduates about dealing with medical conditions from presentation, investigations, diagnosis, treatments, dealing with complications and prognosis.

Currently, the way I have set up my stories (which can be seen if you download my microbiology app - [url removed, login to view]) has been to take 5-8 multiple choice questions and build a story around them to engage the user.

I feel I am limited in my ability to craft short case stories, and would love to meet a script writer who can help formulate stimulating cases and provide some character development for these virtual patients.

I will be looking to create stories for fifteen different medical conditions.

I have attached a file that shows an example of something I did recently. I have utilised characters and dialogue to help set a scene and illustrate the narrative of the doctor treating the condition.

The system would work by me supplying the questions for a patient case and some background of what type of history the patient may have i.e. heavy drinker/smoker etc. The job of the writer would to be to construct a concise and engaging story around these questions and suggest if the engagement of the case could be increased if certain questions were changed or if the patient journey changed e.g. the patient suddenly deteriorates and bleeds out. You would be expected to design a small cast of recurring characters i.e. doctor, nurse, medical student, senior doctor etc and the patient themselves (one patient per scenario case). Additional you would be writing the dialogue around the medical case itself - the initial call to action, dialogue while treating and the conclusions at the end.

Please feel free to look at the example and I look forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks,

Adrian
