As the head of Marketing for Yelp Phoenix and the only marketing employee for the area, I grew the Yelp Phoenix Twitter handle from 500 to 12,500 and the Weekly Yelp newsletter from 30,000 to 500,000, just to name a few outlets. I did so by creating relevant content and engaging with the targeted consumer base of the Valley’s most active and vocal tastemakers and influencers. As a blogger myself, I have over 1,000 Yelp reviews.
I spent five years meeting with businesses on a daily basis and created campaigns for them to successfully connect them with the group of local bloggers who love to write about their experiences and post on social media. Working closely with businesses from every genre allowed me to get a background look into their world and it gave me the knowledge to truly analyze a business's core and create a successful campaign that appealed to the desired customer base to create a returning customer and an online conversation.
During my Yelp career, I hosted business owner workshops for online reputation management in addition to planning and executing 500 events from the ground floor (all of which get reviewed on Yelp), managing 300 Yelp marketing partnerships and securing over 200 media hits.
