Project Description

My name is Thea and I am the assistant of the artist Jon Rafman. We are looking for a 3D animation company to create an architectural walk-through of a space that is covered in a texture which we will provide.

Below is a project description for what it is we need done:

I would like you to create an architectural walkthrough of a Modern Shopping Mall (boutiques, food court, halls of the mall, escalators etc). All of the models, escalators, mall plants, benches, floors, walls, environments, fountains etc, should be covered in one of the images that I will prepare in a yousendit shipment.

I will leave it up to you to chose which image to put on the different models. But I would like the pattern to be continuous, and tiling of the image to not be too obvious. In other words, please don't have a small version of the image obviously repeating over and over again over the model. The 3D bump maps (or material properties) that you use for the models and spaces should remain as they are in the promo video (i.e. I want you to still give the sense of hardwood floors or shiny granite countertops). If an object is made of glass or is reflective you can leave it as glass. I want certain objects to reflect the environment (windows, screens, glass surfaces, water). Each object should contain different material properties or bump maps to differentiate them from each other.

1. Exterior + Entrance + Escalators

The camera should enter the building and slowly move through the entrance past the information desk, the security desk, past the benches (public seating area), past a fountain and plants (large ferns maybe?), and up the escalators to a bright, well lit second floor. The escalator will move us up a floor and bring us up onto the main shopping area. Feel free to populate the lobby with people (security guards, shoppers, teenagers, etc).

2. Main Floor

The camera should then move slowly through the spacious hallways of the shopping centre. Past various businesses (whatever models of a mall you may have -- eg. Shoe Store, Jewelry Store, Large Department Store, Victoria's Secret, Kitchen Supply Store, Women's Fashion Clothing Store, Hairdresser, Wireless Telephone Company Store, Liquor Store, Home collectables and gifts, Apple Store, Public Restrooms etc. Feel free to use whatever it is that you have in your library

I would like it if there were people walking through the halls, sitting on benches or shopping at various mobile carts set up throughout the space. The skin of the people can be skin color, however, I would like the people's clothing to be covered in the images I would send you.

Please have the camera enter only one boutique, and slowly move around the space. Something very standard, perhaps a discount shoe store (can move through the aisles of shoes) or an electronics store.

3. Food Court:

The camera should then go down a different set of escalators to the food court. The camera should weave through and around the food court, past businesses and a space crowded with people. Please have a central fountain or interior garden set up in the middle of this ideally circular space. Or even a sky-light, something with a high ceiling letting in natural sunlight would be interesting.

4. Aerial View of the Shopping Centre

The video should end with an aerial view of the mall. I would like it if you included particle effects in the video, for example leaves or petals fallings.

Please deliver an HD mov file of the video (1920 x1080 px). The entire video should be between 3-5 minutes in length but please have the camera moving very very slowly throughout the entire animation. You can change any aspect of the shopping complex that you like, and you can chose the specific layout and architectural structure of the building. But I would like you to keep it a modernist design.

Please let me know how much this project would cost to be completed, and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions.
