Project Description

This is a very small project. I am looking for a script to be developed for WMI/VBscript to perform a simple set of tasks at logon, and upload those results as a package with relevant information to an MS SQL Database.

The details of the script are as follows:

The details of the script are as follows:

1. Check a directory upon initial execution for any files of a hardcoded specific extension.

2. Collect and analyze files from (1) for a set of hardcoded keywords, if keywords found flag an arbitrary variable to a true value and continue processing, if not found, set result to false and continue processing file in (1)

3. Data from (1) should now be passed to an external executable with configurable hardcoded parameters and the results collected (result will be a .log file) external executable will produce output with a "success" output/keyword in the log if successfully processed. This should be performed on a per-file basis from (1).

4. If Success keyword is not discovered in program output from (3) delete file and associate log and continue to any additional files for processing, or exit if no other files discovered.

5. If success keyword from (3) is discovered continue processing, set arbitrary variable to "Valid", compress/archive initial file from (1) and logfile from (3) into archive/zip file with title format '[url removed, login to view]'

6. Information from (5) should be processed and uploaded to an MS SQL server to store the following information in a particular order, variables should be populated from local system values and user login. The information uploaded should be formatted as, 'date', 'time', 'localIP', 'sysname', 'username', 'poolfound'(variable from 2), 'data'(zip file from 5)

7. The information should be assumed to be acquired from a local windows system, the variables above with the exception of poolfound and data should be readily available through WMI to discover the logged in user (username), local hostname(sysname) and IP address.

8. Upon successful upload to the MS SQL server of information in (6) all data and logfiles generated in (1-5) will be removed from the local system and the script well exit.

Note: This should be assumed to be on windowsXP/200X system and will be executed as a script upon initial logon of users. All data will be hardcoded with no command line or run time parameters to be input.

The script should be easily modifiable by an advanced user for additional keywords, sql inputs, etc. Please contact me if you have any questions on further details for this project
