Project Description

Android Java API levels 8 through 18

We are developing an application in android and are interested in two functions which appear to be built-into the Android OS and are used by apps such as Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, etc.

The functions are

1) New Message indicator in app icon

Many apps show a little orange circle indicating the number of new messages pending in the app. The same icon is displayed on the native Messaging app.

Provide sample code demonstrating how this can be accomplished.

2) "Share" option in File Manager. In the Android File Manager, long-clicking on the file yields a "Share" menu. This menu lists a number of apps; and in each case when an app is clicked, that app is launched via an Intent which includes the file / path to share.

Write a sample android app that is present in the Share menu, with an activity that simply displays in a Textview the file path and name that was selected to be shared.

"Terms of payment" Upon awarding the job, a milestone will be created for the "entire" amount owed. Freelancer will hold this money, but none of the milestone will be released until the job is 100% complete. Do not ask for any milestone payments until all the work is 100% finalized. Its important to note, that since Freelancer will hold ALL the funds, you have NO risk of not getting paid as long as the job is done properly and in a timely manner.

Bid responses sent to us that are automated - will be ignored, please do not send us automated bids if you want to be taken seriously. If you would like to be considered, please make sure to read the above requirements carefully.

This is a straight forward (only 2 to 3 hours job) project for a programmer that "knows" how to code in Android Java.
