Project Description

We are an online text based game (Multi-User Dimension or MUD) themed around the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. We are currently in the process of implementing an all new player combat system. We are looking for someone with some experience working with game engines to help us finish up this new combat engine and get it ready for production use. This new combat system is designed to be more realistic where each player takes turns deciding what move to make, whether it's a thrust, a slash, a parry, etc. Players can also aim at certain body parts when they attack and there are a number of "forms" ([url removed, login to view]) that can be learned and used to attack or defend.

Many volunteer coders have come and gone while working on this system. I'm looking for someone who can jump into the code, figure out what the existing code does, determine the gaps that need to be filled and code them in.

Our game engine is written in C, uses a MySQL database backend and runs on a Linux host.
