Project Description

Looking for a person who knows how to build, modify and integrate Linux LiveCD environments and packages. While the project entails adding software packages to a LiveCD, this is not the only requirement. The qualified person needs to be able to do some programming and shell scripting to modify some of the software packages prior to integrate.

The goal is to put together a custom LiveCD with some unique packages. Again, the packages are available open source but will need some changes from their open source version to enhance their capabilities and interoperability. The ability to change boot splash and other UI elements is also needed. Familiarity with running virtual machines is a plus too.

Just to be clear, the job requires MORE THAN JUST building a LiveCD ISO with off the shelf packages. There are systems out there that allow a novice to specify a set of packages and will churn out a LiveCD ISO with them on it. The ability to take a non-standard software package and modify it to run in a LiveCD environment with some other software is the key skill sought. There probably isn't a significant amount of programming to be done but it's just important that the person has this ability.

For this first phase we only need a working prototype. If successful, there will be additional phases to make it a more robust package.
